Choose music tracks to add to a new CD file, then insert a blank CD in the computer's disc drive and click Start Burn to transfer the music at the newly compressed Bitrate onto the disc.

I suggest you compress the audio file and then try to burn the file to the disc. You may refer to the link provided below to compress the audio file. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Compress-and-uncompress-files-zip-files. Hope this is helpful. 1 person found this reply helpful.

When you data burn, you can fit 700 MBs of anything onto the cd; but if you burn music onto a cd to play it in your car (or any other regular mp3 player), the cd is burned in a format called ".cda”, which can only hold usually 80 mins of music. Your friend couldn’t have played all those albums you saw in a regular cd-player.

Go to Edit and Open and choose your file. Then, click Project Rate, you can use this to lower the audio's sampling rate, and also it's file size. If you don't care about the audio file being in stereo, select Split Stereo Track, then select Mono. This will reduce the file size by playing the audio on one track instead of two.

Most CD-Rs will hold up to 800MB of data, but that's data as opposed to CD audio, which a CD-R can take up to ~78 minutes of (it's big ). You'd probably have the most luck splitting the track across multiple discs unless you have a CD player that supports MP3 discs (it should say on the body of the device usually), which will have the data stored as actual MP3 files and thus be able to hold many times more data.

Click Edit, Open, choose the file to compress and click OK. Click Project Rate and choose a lower value. Click the drop-down arrow next to the name of the audio file and select Split Stereo Track, select Mono by clicking on the drop-down next to the two tracks.

Download Audacity and install it. Open the app and drag & drop the audio file you want to compress onto the app’s window to open it. Once added, go to File>Export. Pick a lossy format to export to e.g. MP3.
